Continuing Medical Education

CME Program
Continuing Medical Education activities organized by the Medical Society are funded within our negotiated contract with government. The CME activities are developed by the Continuing Medical Education Committee of the Medical Society. The following is a summary of projects currently being offered through this program:

Clinical Days
The Medical Society organizes four Clinical Days per year. These are one day educational seminars held in Charlottetown for all Island physicians.

Videotaping of Clinical Days
It has been recognized that many physicians find it difficult to attend the Clinical Days held in Charlottetown; therefore, a decision was made to have these programs professionally videotaped and made available to membership.

CME Supplementary Funding
The Supplementary Funding Program will subsidize the cost of registration for accredited continuing medical education activities up to $1,000 annually. Eligible applicants must provide proof of attendance and original receipts.

Clinical Skill Fellowship Fund
The Clinical Skills Fellowship Fund is available to assist physicians with expenses associated with special training and upgrading. Eligible physicians will be awarded a singular grant of up to $5,000 annually based on a per diem allowance of $500.
